Have you heard the news? Kenosha, Wisconsin, is buzzing with excitement for our upcoming inaugural Lake Fest! This exciting event promises a whirlwind of water-based fun and community camaraderie, proudly presented by an array of local sponsors including Great Lakes Yacht Sales ourselves! Before the event starts, mark your calendars for July 29th and learn a little more about all the festivities you won’t want to miss.
Start the Day with a Splash!
We’re kicking off this event with our Family Dock Party at Great Lakes Yacht Sales on 50th Street. Arrive by 10 am, when we’ll be hosting games and arts and crafts projects, as well as having plenty of delicious food available! Everyone, young or old, is invited to enjoy this event and soak in the summer fun together.
Sailboats, Speakers, and Scavenger Hunts
The events don’t stop there. With the Kenosha Community Sailing Center, you can view beautiful sailboats or even rent one for a tranquil voyage across the water. Between your fun experiences on the water, be sure to also catch our array of guest speakers, sharing wisdom on boat safety, preserving natural resources, and more. Plus, you’ll also find a dance demonstration by Step by Step Dancers. Also, don’t miss the scavenger hunt that kicks off at 12 pm. Some excellent prizes will be up for grabs!
Get Your Game Face On!
Next, be sure to head over to The Beach House on Simmons Island Road. Here, you’ll be able to participate in two exciting tournaments to get your competitive juices flowing. Starting at 11 am and running through 2:30 pm, compete in the Bags Tournament, sponsored by Kornosha Baggers and area businesses. You’ll have a chance to win payouts if ranked 1st, 2nd, or 3rd – and a portion of the entry fees go to benefit the Kenosha Community Sailing Center! So, not only are you having fun, but you're also giving back to the community. It's a win-win!
If the Bags Tournament isn’t quite your style, you can also catch a simultaneous Bocce Ball Tournament sponsored by the Italian American Club and other area businesses. Do you think you’ve got a shot at taking home the winning title?
Dress Up, Dine, and Dance the Night Away
As the sun starts to set, we’d also like to invite you to a night of lakeside elegance at the Venetian Night Dinner & Boat Parade Viewing. Picture this: a waterfront setting, a delicious meal, and a silent auction, all leading up to a stunning boat parade viewed from a VIP dockside spot. Sound fun? We’re also excited to note that the funds raised during this event go towards supporting our beloved Kenosha Community Sailing Center.
Light Up the Lake
Now, we’re arriving at one of the main events – our Venetian Night Boat Parade. After the sun sets at approximately 8 pm, the water will come alive with a parade of boats adorned with twinkling lights, parading across the lake with a fun beach theme! If you’d like to join with a boat or dinghy, you can register by July 25th at this link. You’ll even have a chance to win cash or a boat slip with Great Lakes Yacht Sales! So why not light up your boat and join the party on the water?
